There are many types of meeting formats, some are group focused, here are just a few:

Open meetings are available to anyone interested in Alcoholics Anonymous program of recovery from alcoholism. Nonalcoholics may attend open meetings as observers.

Closed meetings are for A.A. members only, or for those who have a drinking problem and "have a desire" to stop drinking.

Women's meetings are for female A.A. members only, or for women who have a drinking problem and "have a desire" to stop drinking.

Men's meetings are for male A.A. members only, or for men who have a drinking problem and "have a desire" to stop drinking.

Online meetings are usually held using Zoom and are considered Open meetings.

Hybrid meetings are both in-person and online, and are considered Open meetings.
